AI Generated? So, what did you actually do?
We draw from themes within our published, open-source books on education and decoloniality as well as refusing dominant knowledge production:
Compositions Elsewhere, Vol. III: Equity, Research, and the Poetics of Education
Pencils Down: Conversations on Humanizing Education
Undissertation Notes: A Collective Unraveling
Season Elsewhere, Vol. V
We draft image prompts utilizing the themes from the writings to continue investigating through illustrating social phenomenon.
What inspires the image---search team?
There is a quote from an interview of Heartman in the game Death Stranding:
QUOTE
There is, however, another very special type of human. A breed that would serve Bridges rather well. Homo ludens – they who play. Be it deliberate or unintentional, Homo ludens unite people – creating culture, shaping the very world around them – not going through violence, nor laws or proscriptions, but rather through metaphorical acts of play.
END QUOTE
One of our inspirations is play. We enjoy playing with ideas (another projext) to illustrate and clarify concepts for open discussions. Through playing, we create and encourage communities to critically reflect to understand social phenomenon as well as craft strategies to imagine beyond.
Why is PROJEXT spelled with an X?
Projext is spelled with an "x" for they "cross" streets and transgress boundaries not only with disciplines of knowledge but also on what it means to create and heal in community.
We also cross streets. Our projexts crosses to different sites as we continue to facilitate possibility. Additional projects can be found at in the archive as well as in the navigation menu on this page.
